Kiến trúc chùa Việt Nam được xây dựng và phát triển khá đa dạng qua các thời kỳ lịch sử khác nhau và không gian khác nhau, ở các phong cách kiến trúc địa phương. Chùa kiểu chữ Tam phổ biến hơn miền Nam hơn ở miền Bắc. Chùa của người Mường làm bằng tranh tre đơn giản. Chùa của người Khmer xây theo kiến trúc của Campuchia và Thái Lan – vốn ảnh hưởng văn hóa của đế chế Khmer. Chùa của người Hoa cũng có sắc thái kiến trúc riêng.
Chùa chữ Công (工):
